Description
This is £5000.00 Student Innovation Voucher Award.
Technological advances in wireless communication have paved the way for the development of miniaturized, low-cost, and power-efficient wireless networking devices. The extensive demand for internet of things applications have created new networking challenges, which have encouraged the development of a new paradigm of networking devices. The design of a networking device is influenced by factors like scalability, energy consumption, and environment and depends on the applications. In a wireless sensing device, the main activities are sensing, processing, and communication, and out of these behaviours, most of the energy is spent on communication purposes. Energy conservation is thus a dominant factor in wireless networking devices. Routing strategy selection is very important for the ensured delivery of transmission packets.
The LoRa technology provides long-range coverage and extremely low power consumption by using Chirp spread-spectrum modulation techniques. A lot of work has been done on LoRa technology since its emergence with the potential to revolutionise modern low-power communication. This project is providing a comparison of state-of-art communication technology and the implementation of a unique solution for lora based drone communication system for Emission sampler devices.
