Description
PI on this New Professor Fund seed funded project to develop collaborations with researchers in Japan concerning plastics pollution and media. International interdisciplinary partners, Prof Kunhao Yang (Department of Information Science and Engineering, Yamaguchi University) and Mengyuan Fu, an ECR from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo. This project will also draw together key researchers in JMC with an interest in sustainability and social media (Dr Chamil Rathnayake) as well as colleagues across HaSS (Prof Paul Flowers, Psychology) and in Chemical Engineering (Dr Karen Johnson). Mobilising external contacts (e.g. experts in Japanese culture and waste in Social Anthropology, University of Cambridge) to create a cluster focused on UK-Japan perspectives on microplastics.
