Description
AFRC_CATP_1866 and AFRC_CATP_2015 has set a pretext for this project, experimental try-out of the die quenching process will be performed using conventional tool (machined) and additive manufactured tool. AFRC_CATP_1866 focussed on the FE capability development and understand the die quench process landscape. Further, AFRC_CATP_2015 project was carry forward to engage with the stake holders both from automotive and aerospace industries, the learning from CATP 1866 was applied to develop industry focused geometrical features, tool design and development of forming tool using Autoform simulation. This work package focusses on conducting experimental trails on the tools manufactured in CATP_2015 project and post forming analysis of formed components. In the last section of this project outcomes and future plan will be shared with stakeholder to move forward on the developed die quenching methodology.
