AFRC-CATP-05977 - ID 078 Investigation of Fracture Criteria Fit for Incremental Bulk Forming Processes

Project: Internally funded project

Project Details

Description

This project attempts to down-select and review existing criteria available in commercial FE software and literature, short-list the relevant ones and calibrate down-selected models and variations of them and report on the findings. The short-listing will be done based on applicability to bulk forming process (preferably to incremental bulk forming process with finite strain and complex cyclic loading), parameters used in the criteria, calibration methodology, applicability limits, feasibility of calibration with available equipment and expertise in AFRC and ease of implementation within an FE framework. If found successful, a continuation project will be proposed for the implementation of them for real-time experimental trials and validate them for particular observed fractures.
