UK & Ireland Green Gown Award 2022

Recognising exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by the world's universities and colleges, the UK & Ireland and also the International Green Gown Awards set the bar and put every learning institution at the heart of delivering the UN Global Goals.

EAUC (Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges) works in partnership with The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), International Association of Universities (IAU), the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative and United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) to make these awards.

I led the development of a Climate Education workshop series at Strathclyde (and beyond) during COP26 and COY16 (which I also led negotiations in this coming to Strathclyde). Since then I have worked with colleagues from Centre for Sustainable Development and our ESD WG to train staff and students as workshop facilitators and embed in UG curricula, as well as run as PG events for Strathclyde students and and those from ISPs. For this Strathclyde won the UK & Ireland Green Gown Award for Student Engagement and is now automatically entered to compete in the same category for the International GGA which takes place in NYC during the UN High Level Political Forum in July 2023.
