Personal Statement
An ambitious and experienced leader in End of Life material solutions, sustainable & circular material development and Net-Zero manufacturing technologies with a solid research background, knowledge exchange skills and innovative thinking. Adept at creating strategic alliances with academic leaders and industrial partners to effectively align with and support government development Net-Zero planning. Excel at building and retaining high-performance teams by managing, developing, and motivating skilled professionals. Experienced in managing multimillion pounds projects.
I have a solid knowledge of sustainable composites manufacturing, design & modelling and testing. My PhD project at the University of Nottingham focuses on the development of a fibre alignment process to manufacture high performance recycled carbon fibre composites (this project was successfully funded by Boeing). The later post-doc research project, which is still in the area of sustainable manufacturing, collaborates with the world’s first and largest carbon fibre recovery company. The project tasks include R&D on the process and product optimization, business case development and further funding identification. More than seven years of research experience with carbon fibre recycling and reuse makes me familiar with different world-leading recycling and remanufacturing activities and I still hold a strong passion in this area.
My current role at the Lightweight Manufacturing Centre (LMC) – National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) strengthens my skills in the area of project/team management and knowledge exchange. With the expertise in sustainable composites manufacturing, I have participated and taken the project lead role in several projects especially with aerospace, automotive, construction and renewable energy sectors to provide more sustainable solutions to their current manufacturing methods and refresh the material selection. In addition, with the extensive practical experience in various composites moulding technologies (such as RTM, autoclave, vacuum infusion, etc.), I have been working on assisting the SMEs, especially the micro/new starter company to understand their business plan and identify the suitable and commercially viable plan for both current and long term development.
