Zakia Jabeen is a doctoral researcher at the University of Strathclyde's Business School, in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship. Her research focuses on understanding the strategic capabilities of social enterprises with a zero-waste agenda in India. Prior to starting her doctoral studies at the University of Strathclyde, Zakia earned a bachelor's degree in commerce and an MBA specialising in agribusiness from Aligarh Muslim University, India. She previously worked as a process associate with a multinational corporation. Zakia has a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge. She has been teaching in academia since 2017 as an assistant professor, delivering courses on management topics. She was selected as a young entrepreneur for her innovative business idea and underwent training at the MANAGE Centre for Innovation and Agripreneurship, which included hands-on training and an internship with start-ups under RKVY-RAFTAAR at MANAGE-Hyderabad under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare MoA & FW, Government of India. Her research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, small business and innovation, new venture planning, startups, sustainable enterprises,co-working spaces, and incubation models.
