Personal Statement

Dr Yang Huang is a PhD in the subject of naval architecture, ocean and engineering. He has experience in the numerical simulation of hydrodynamic performance of marine structures. His main research interests lie in the application of CFD for flow analysis of ocean renewable energy.

Currently, he is working on the project “Bionic Adaptive Stretchable Materials for WEC (BASM-WEC)” a project funded by the EPSRC. The aim of this project is to develop an analysis and laboratory testing integrity toolbox to reliably design, analyse, and process the state-of-the-art adaptive stretchable materials and structures applicable to Wave Energy Converters.
