Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am passionate about sustainable development and wholeheartedly believe in the pursuit of a global society which is equitable for all in current and future generations.

To that end, I have pursued a professional career in international development, drawing on my technical and analytical foundation built through a MEng in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in International Development.

Since 2018, I have worked as a development practitioner and researcher including my current role at UoS. I work on rural energy access and clean cooking projects with Malawian partners - as well as organisations in other east African countries, Europe and the UK. I have experience at all project stages from identifying sources of funding, proposal writing, planning, implementation, data analysis, reporting and dissemination of outputs.

I also have industrial experience, having worked for Cundall (multi-national sustainable building consultancy) and for the Energy Saving Trust.
