Personal profile
Personal Statement
I joined the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Strathclyde as an Energy for Future (E4F) Fellow (Marie-Curie Co Fund Programme coordinated by Iberdrola) in June 2022. My proposed project for E4F fellowship focuses on photoelectrochemical CO2 conversion to value added fuels and chemicals.
Before joining University of Strathclyde, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2017-2022) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. My research at KAUST focused on understanding the process-structure-property relationships of metal based heterogeneous catalysts and their application in electrochemical and photoelectrochemical energy conversión for solar fuels production. This involves the designing of new and innovative catalytic materials, their characterisation and applications for hydrogen production, carbon dioxide utilisation to value added fuels/chemicals and nitrogen fixation to ammonia synthesis.
I have 3 U.S. patents and over 25 publications in international peer reviewed journals including Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Energy Letters, ACS Nano. I am currently serving as a Review Editor in Frontiers in Materials-Carbon Based Materials journal and I am a frequent reviewer in several international journals.
I hold Ph.D. (2017) in Physics from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India. My Ph.D. work focused on the development of graphene based nanocomposites for photocatalytic energy conversion and environmental remediation applications.
