Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am currently a post-doctoral modelling researcher for the Plant Health Centre Scotland, University of Strathclyde, and Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland. My current role is to provide advice to the Scottish Government in a modelling capacity for pests and diseases of plant life. My current work is on developing a modelling framework for understanding risk from potential future threats to the plant health of Scotland, and using Emerald ash borer as case study.

My research interests are in biological invasions and biosecurity, and more specifically,. on the spread of pests/diseases and the development through to implementation of mitigation strategies. My past work has been on the impact evolutionary trade-offs and polymorphism have on range expansions.
