Personal Statement
Turan is an alumna of the University of Glasgow and holds an MBA degree from the Adam Smith Business School. Her sixteen years of cross-industry work experience covers banking, telecommunications industry, and higher education. She has led core business teams of experts managing cashless payments and launching new products in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Considering teaching as one of the primary methods of sharing knowledge, she started teaching in academia in 2016 as an adjunct instructor delivering courses on management topics and joined the faculty as a full-time Instructor of Management in early 2018. She is the recipient of the "Best Teacher" award, which was presented in recognition of her exceptional performance in teaching.
Turan started her full-time Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde in October 2022 and her research focuses on the business model innovation in social enterprises to discover the drivers behind this process.
