Personal Statement

Having joined the University of Strathclyde in August 2014, Thomas McAlinden is currently a Teaching Fellow with a wide teaching remit from Undergraduate, Honours, Masters and on the flagship MBA. Prior to joining the University, Thomas held several marketing roles ranging from digital marketing, event management, brand management and finally as a markeing consultant and has worked on numerous brands (regional and national) in various product categories and sectors ranging from £2 million to £65 million helping them grow in both volume and value and gaining and maintaining a loyal consumer following.

In conjunction with working in industry and prior to joining the university, Thomas also gained several years teaching experience on the professional CIM marketing qualifications helping marketers improve their skills, knowledge and ultimately helping them enhancing their marketing careers.

Thomas is a 'Strathclyder' having gained numerous qualifications at the university including:

- MBA with Distinction

- MSc with Distinction

- BA Hons in Marketing

- Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education

In addition to this, Thomas is committed to his continuing professional development and has supplemented his qualifications from the University of Strathclyde with the following:
