I’m a Data Scientist (KTP Associate) working on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Maru/Syngro and the University of Strathclyde. The aim of the KTP is to deliver a step-change in the market research industry through predictive modelling and advanced analytics, to support client decision-making on customer management strategies. My focus is on creating analytical tools to uncover trends in customer data, focusing on relationships between future financial income and responses to customer experience surveys.
The combination of financial forecasting and text mining requires innovative use of traditional time-series modelling with unsupervised machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP), to quantify and track the customer experience as expressed through verbatim comments. Operationalising data science outputs requires close collaboration with industry partners and end-users so that deliverables are useful, usable and durable.
