Personal profile
Personal Statement
I am a Teaching Fellow within the Law School. I was appointed to this role in September 2019. Prior to that I had been a Teaching Associate on a part time basis for some years. I have held teaching roles at the University since 2009.
I graduated from the Law School in 2008 with LLB (Hons) (First Class) and in 2009 with a Diploma in Legal Practice. A qualified solicitor, I have worked in private practice for two of Scotland's largest firms, and as inhouse counsel for two of the country's largest companies.
My teaching workload covers a range of subject matters. I teach and coordinate classes on the undergraduate LLB, postgraduate Diploma and postgraduate Masters programmes.
Outside of the university I am involved as a director of a semi-professional football club, and as a director of a community sports facility organisation. Combining this interest with legal study I am launching a new elective in Sports law for the Law School in the next academic year.
I am past member of the Law Society of Scotland's Access to Justice Committee. I also previously served on the Children's Panel for four years.
