Personal Statement

Shadan is a PhD researcher with Rolls-Royce UTC in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Her research primarily lies in the area of resilient power and propulsion system design for electrical vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for the emerging market of urban air mobility (UAM). Shadan’s current work is on evaluating the current state of art and near-term advancements of key electrical technologies for eVTOL aircraft system level design viable for aerial taxi mission. She is also looking into certification specifications and regulators requirements to issue certification for novel DC protection device.
