Personal Statement

I joined the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry in January 2018 and specialise in teaching organic chemistry and spectroscopy, and co-lead the departmental employability programme in years 2 and 3. 

Prior to my career in academia, I worked in the not-for-profit sector and also in industry. 

I have an interest in chemistry education research with a particular focus on student employability skills, adoption of new teaching practices and comparison between experts and novices in solving chemical problems.

Committee member and previously Chair of SCI (Society of Chemical Industry) Scotland Group and have an interest in fostering links between academia and industry and also increasing students' employability skills.
