Personal profile
Personal Statement
I joined the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry in January 2018 and specialise in teaching organic chemistry and spectroscopy, lead the departmental employability agenda and co-facilitate the industrial placement programme for MChem students.
Prior to my career in academia, I worked in the not-for-profit sector and also in industry.
I have an interest in chemistry education research with a particular focus on student employability skills, adoption of new teaching practices and comparison between experts and novices in solving chemical problems.
Teaching Interests
My current teaching responsibilities include:
CH107 Organic Chemistry and Spectroscopy
CH208 Fundamental Organic Chemistry and Spectroscopy
CH214/218 Practical and Transferable/Employability Skills
