Personal profile

Research Interests

My research explores primary children’s lived experiences and perspectives on outdoor play, nature connection and digital technologies, with a particular focus on Internet of Things toys (IoToys). I am interested in how IoToys intersect with children’s play and their relationships with nature. I also explore how these experiences are expressed through children’s voices and agency.

Guided by a postdigital perspective, my work seeks to move beyond binary framings of technology and nature. I use multi-method participatory approaches that provide children with different ways to share their experiences. This allows me to recognise children as active meaning-makers and co-researchers.
