Personal Statement

Ruth Downes is a Knowledge Exchange Associate at the European Policies Research Centre in the School of Government and Public Policy.  She is the Consortium manager for the European Regional Policy Research Consortium (EoRPA) which is funded by 12 European governments and is recognised as one of the leading comparative research and KE networks in Europe in the field of regional development policy.  In addition to cross-national research into domestic and EU regional policy, her research interests include more detailed analysis of regional disparities and policy in Germany.  In an earlier period of employment at EPRC, her research interests included regional policy and delivery in Austria and Sweden as well as regional disparities and policy response in Central and Eastern European countries.
