Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am DMEM’s Research Co-ordinator, with responsibility to co-ordinate and support the department in its delivery of research.

I am University's Advanced Manufactruing and Materials Strategic Theme Lead.

I am also the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) Network and Alliances Manager. Within this role I have been responsible for setting up the NMIS Network. This has led me to gain an understanding of the extensive Manufacturing Landscape in Scotland. I am a member of the Network of Networks Working Group, an initiative from the Scottish Government Manufacturing Recovery Plan, and I help to ensure collaborative working across the organisations.

Prior to joining the University, I worked in the rail Industry for 14 years, initially in Network Rail and latterly as the Safety & Risk Officer for the Glasgow Subway.

My personal research is in Engineering Management. My interests are in exploring business process improvement including efficient and effective use of meeting resources to ensure optimal value. I am also interested in exploring Risk Management within organisations.
