Nikos obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in 2013. Previous to this, he studied in the University of Piraeus from which he received a BSc in Industrial Management and Technology (2003) and an MBA in Total Quality Management (2006). In 2015 Nikos became Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. In 2021, Nikos received an MSc in Learning and Teaching in Higher Eduction from the University of Strathclyde.

Undergraduate
Nikos is the Director of Undergraduate Learning and Teaching in the Department of Economics, overseeing the Economics studies undergraduate programme.
Nikos is the lecturer in charge of the classes “Intermediate Microeconomics” and “Natural Resource, Environmental and Energy Economics”.
Postgraduate
Nikos is the Director of the MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and Climate Change, which is a course aiming to train future leaders in the sectors of energy and climate change. The course equips its students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the challenges and uncertainties that industries, economies, governments and societies face in the areas of energy and climate change.
Nikos is the lecturer in charge of the MSc classes "Energy Technologies, Impacts and Implementation", "Energy Finance and Forecasting", "Fundamentals of Microeconomics" and "Games of Strategy". He also teaches in the MSc class "Energy Industries and Markets".
Supervision
Nikos supervises Economics honours year dissertations, MSc dissertations, MSc summer projects, MBA projects and PGR studies in a number of topic areas.
