Personal Statement

Nikos obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in 2013. Previous to this, he studied in the University of Piraeus from which he received his BSc in Industrial Management and Technology in 2003, and his MBA in Total Quality Management in 2006.

In 2015, Nikos became Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.

In 2021, Nikos obtained his MSc in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Strathclyde.

Teaching Interests

Undergraduate

Nikos is the Director of Undergraduate Learning and Teaching in the Department of Economics, overseeing the Economics studies undergraduate programme.

He is the lecturer in charge of the classes “Intermediate Microeconomics” and “Natural Resource, Environmental and Energy Economics”.

Postgraduate

Nikos is the founding Director of the MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and Climate Change, which is a course aiming to train future leaders in the sectors of energy and climate change. The course equips its students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the challenges and uncertainties that industries, economies, governments and societies face in the areas of energy and climate change.

He is the lecturer in charge of the MSc classes "Energy Technologies, Impacts and Implementation", "Fundamentals of Microeconomics" and "Games of Strategy". He also teaches in the MSc classes "Energy Industries and Markets" and "Energy Finance and Forecasting".

Supervision

Nikos supervises Economics honours year dissertations, MSc Summer Projects, MBA/MSc Final Projects and PhD studies in a number of topic areas.
