Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am a PhD student in Education, exploring the pedagogy of Sufi mentorship and the ways in which the murshid–murid relationship shapes teaching and learning. My research focuses on understanding the principles, practices, and aims of Sufi mentorship as a form of mentorship. I began my academic journey as a Lecturer in Bangladesh, teaching applied linguistics for four years, before moving into the philosophy of education. During my MSc in Education Studies at the University of Strathclyde, I developed an interest in how spiritual traditions inform educational practices. Through my doctoral work, I aim to examine Sufi mentorship as a distinct pedagogical model and contribute to broader discussions on guidance, learning, and personal development in educational contexts.
