Personal profile

Personal Statement

I joined the university in 2003 as a tutor and became a lecturer on the post graduate diploma courses in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2005.  I am currently the Counselling Courses leader for the PG Certiicate, Full and Part-time PG Diplomas and MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have 30 years experience in the field of mental health and 20 years experience as a Person-centred/ experiential therapist and a back ground in inovative project development within the mental health field. I aim to develop the person-cented experiential appraoch and to extend our student's capacity to take the approach to the field of psychotherapy and to impliment the approach to an increasingly diverse range of settings.

Linking theory to clinical practice and using experiential teaching methods facilitates students learning both acadmically and professionally and aims to produce highly competant, ethically and theoretically aware, reflective practitioners.
