Background
My great interest and background in Science paved way to my further interest in Renewable energy, hence I decided to pursue a Masters in Sustainable Engineering: Renewable energy systems & environment at the University of Strathclyde. I have always been a keen learner when it came to the commercial side of Engineering for which I chose to blend my technical knowledge with a subject of Management (Policy-making). So I decided to take up another area of study namely Global energy Management, Economics which I successfully completed from the University of Strathclyde. It provided me with a deeper understanding of the current global energy market, energy policies and its economy. I worked for a couple of years as an Energy Engineer in different companies in and around Glasgow and carried out various roles and responsibilities working on renewable energy projects mainly Pumped hydropower energy storage technology, District heating schemes and assisted in energy assessment of non-domestic buildings.
About PhD
Currently pursuing PhD Politics in the School of Government & Public policy at the University of Strathclyde. My research topic is to study the economy-wide and societal impacts of delivering multiple benefits from energy efficiency actions in Indian households. Proposed methodology will involve constructing a multi sector economy wide CGE model of the Indian economy and conducting scenario analysis and simulation work to add to the evidence base underpinning the IEA multiple benefits framework. Also, to further assess the potential economy wide impact of improved energy efficiency in households that will help inform policy-making. However, my objective remains the growth and development of communities facing fuel poverty problems.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
