Personal Statement

I am a PhD student at the University of Strathclyde, currently working under Dr Graeme West and Dr Paul Murray with the aim of developing Structure-from-Motion image processing techniques which can operate in low feature spaces. My previous education was at both Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde where I obtained my B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in Digital Systems Engineering and Signal Processing respectively.


Research Interests

  • Assisitive Glove Based Technology - UK deaf-blind translation devices to bridge communication with the outside world and to negate social isolation of deaf-blind sufferers. 
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) Biometric Systems - Next-generation ECG biometric systems exploiting pulse domain feature extraction techniques. 
  • Structure from Motion (SfM) Image Processing - Currently researching SfM and its use within Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactors (AGR) - developing techniques that can reconstruct 3D models of fuel channels for condition monitoring.
