Personal profile

Expertise & Capabilities

Due to my past experience of working with natural science and statistics (1 year in Biology), I am a lawyer who can also understand and use knowledge outside of the legal field.

My other past experience is work as a civil servant, where I alone decided on appealed cases regarding social pension, and did so on the basis of mostly automated public decisionmaking. This gave me experience with public law (at the highest level) in Danish law, but also inspiration and useful observations that enable me to discuss in detail how automated decisionmaking works and vice versa in both public and private law on an international level. We also always made use of advanced interpretations of EU-law, which I am furthermore capable of at the highest level.

Research Interests

Anything in law and security intersecting, but mostly when it concerns IoT, CPS or critical infrastructure. I am a generalist and can learn and discuss issues within every legal field.

Teaching Interests

Due to my past with EU and (Danish) Public Law, I am capable and interested in teaching introduction or advanced courses in both. Furthermore, I am personally interested in Maritime and International Trading Law as well, since these were some of the subjects of my past Candidate Thesis. I am also well versed in Data Protection Law at EU or UK level. Finally, I am extremely engaged in studying and caring about the choice and argumentation of jurisprudence and legal method in general, so I would like to teach this as well eventually.

Academic / Professional qualifications

Bachelor in Law (3 year version, with thesis + viva).

Candidate in Law (cand.jur), not a direct equivalent in UK degrees (2 years, thesis + viva).

These two give me the exclusive title of "jurist" in the EU, which enables certain types of work which Solicitors in the UK do (but not all).

Personal Statement

I am an extremely curious and academically engaged individual. Knowledge and the pursuit of the greater good is what drives me both professionally and personally. I derive all my energy and passion from this, and the interactions of systems and the complexity of everything in the world (including law) is what drives me forward.

I am currently not engaged in any religion, but I have in the past practiced a branch of Mahayana Buddhism, which I am at least still inspired from.

I believe in the freedom of the individual as understood in traditional liberal ideology, and that the pursuit of good things in life are worth running after. The joy of others can be the joy of you, but that is not central.

My work and other ethics are currently epicurean, which is summarized well in the τετραφάρμακος:

Don't fear god,

Don't worry about death;

What is good is easy to get,

What is terrible is easy to endure.
