Karim is a researcher in nanotechnology, nanomedicine, and biomaterials/biomedical engineering. He has worked on biomaterials/materials preparation/functionalization and analyses at nano-micro scale.
He awarded several national/international merit-based awards and scholarships, filed and licensed two patents, co-authored several research grants and secured (+£140k) grants, published +20 peer-reviewed articles, and attended +10 international/national conferences. Karim qualified with distinction as a top engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur.
To tackle the hardest, but impactful challenges in the area of preparation, optimization, and development of bio-compatible, bio-degradable and functional materials, and studying their physicochemical behavior, bioavailability, toxicity, therapeutic and pharmacological effects, Karim has started his career as a (bio)materials engineer since 2009.
