Personal Statement
Justine John DYIKUK is a second-year doctoral researcher in the Journalism, Media, and Communication, University of Strathclyde Glasgow, Scotland, UK. He has 5 years’ experience as a Lecturer of Mass Communication, University of Jos, Nigeria. For 8 years, he was the editor of Bauchi Caritas Newspaper and Communication’s Director for Bauchi Diocese. Dyikuk is currently a Senior Fellow for Religious Freedom Policy, Religious Freedom Institute, Washington DC.
His research focuses on religiously motivated violence with specific emphasis on investigating the place of strategic communication in the deployment of media resources by Boko Haram insurgents in juxtaposition with government’s counterinsurgency efforts. He has published articles in learned local and international journals as well as festschrifts and book chapter contributions while attending conferences at home and abroad.
