Personal Statement
In August 2015, June joined the University of Strathclyde on secondment as a Teaching Fellow in the School of Education. Prior to this, June worked as a primary teacher with Glasgow City Council, supporting pupils with additional support needs in the mainstream classroom and in the specialist ASN sector.
With an award of MPhil in Education Studies (2005), June has continued to engage with educational policy and curriculum studies, while delivering research-informed practice in the classroom. Current research interests relate to mathematics in ITE; research is ongoing within the Doctorate of Education programme at the University of Strathclyde and is linked to a Scottish Council of Deans of Education nationwide attainment challenge project.
In her current role as Teaching Associate, June has held responsibility for leading Pedagogy and Placement Learning (PPL) modules for students on both the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and the B.A. Primary Education. June also takes an active role on the course management team for the PGDE and has successfully coordinated the BA4 clinic for Developing Understandings of Inclusive Practice in Numeracy.
