June Pisaneschi

June joined the University of Strathclyde as a Teaching Fellow of Education in 2015. Prior to this, June served ten years as a primary teacher with Glasgow City Council, where she developed a particular interest in supporting pupils with additional needs, both in the mainstream school system and in the specialist ASN sector.

With an award of MPhil in Education Studies (2005), June has continued to engage with educational policy and curriculum studies, while delivering research-informed practice in the classroom. Current research interests relate to inclusive pedagogy, initial teacher education, and mathematics teaching. Her research within the Doctorate of Education programme at the University of Strathclyde is ongoing and her study has contributed to a nationwide attainment challenge project led by the Scottish Council of Deans of Education. Initial findings from this research study were published in the Scottish Education Reviewal journal (2020), and more recently in the Scottish Mathematical Council Journal (2022). 

In her current role as Teaching Fellow within the School of Education, June has held responsibility for leading Pedagogy and Placement Learning modules for students on both the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and the B.A. Primary Education. June has been supporting the leadership of the BA Primary Education programme as Depute Course Leader since Aug 2020, for which responsibilties include curriculum and assessment moderation in years 1 & 2 of the programme and academic selection including widening access and recruitment. June has also taken an active role on the course management team for the PGDE, leading on the Curriculum & Pedagogy module for primary education post-graduate teaching students.
