Personal Statement

I am a teaching fellow in finance and the MSc Finance course director. My focus is on creating an excellent learning experience for our students. I teach a variety of finance classes and supervise dissertations and MSc projects. My main interests are in behavioural finance and international financial markets and I enjoy sharing curiosity about finance with my students. I have been nominated and shortlisted for the student-led Teaching Excellence Awards several times, most recently in 2024 I was awarded "Best in the Business School". I am a member of the European Finance Association (EFA) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). At the 2024 SBS Teaching and Knowledge Exchange Awards I was nominated for the Teaching Innovation Award .

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests include behavioural finance, international finance, security analysis, micro finance, Islamic finance and financial regulation. I teach at both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level and have experience not only in the delivery but also the development and design of new UG, PG, as well as long distance classes. I enjoy the interaction with our students from very diverse backgrounds and the challenge of adapting my teaching in response to the ever evolving financial markets.
