Personal Statement

Joseph El Gemayel joined the University of Strathclyde as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences on August, 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science – Artificial Intelligence from the University of Toulouse, France, which he earned in 2013.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Joseph has lectured at various universities, including the University of Toulouse (France) and the Lebanese University – Faculty of Science (Lebanon), among others. He also served as the Chairperson of the Computer Science and Information Technology programs at the American University of Technology (AUT) in Lebanon from September 2014 to August 2020.

Joseph’s research interests focus on advancing AI techniques, particularly in game-based learning and AI-driven educational applications. His goal is to develop intelligent and adaptive systems that enhance learning experiences.
