Personal Statement
Dr. Jie Zhao is a Research Manager in the Department of Design, Manufacturing, and Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde, UK. She has over 17 years of research experience in materials processing technology, precision engineering, tool and machine design, and digital manufacturing systems technology. Dr. Zhao has served as the lead researcher and project manager for more than twenty large-scale research and commercial projects and has collaborated with over 70 partners globally.
She has authored more than 30 high-quality papers, contributed to 2 book chapters, and is the one of the two editors of the Micro-Manufacturing Engineering and Technology book (3rd edition). She is the programme manager and lead administrator for the 21st International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR2024) and the 4th International Conference on New Forming Technology (ICNFT2015). Dr. Zhao became a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2014. She is actively engaged in research, knowledge exchange and teaching.
