Personal profile
Personal Statement
As a student, my journey has been shaped by diverse interests and experiences across continents. Having completed my undergraduate education at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS) in 2021, my dissertation delved into the manifestation of misogyny within left-wing literature in China, shedding light on critical gender issues within the cultural landscape.
Transitioning to the United Kingdom, I pursued my Master's degree at the University of Glasgow in 2022, focusing on equity and equality within Scotland's higher education system. This exploration deepened my understanding of social justice frameworks and their application within educational contexts.
I am embarking on a PhD journey at the University of Strathclyde, where my research delves into the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ Chinese international students studying in the UK. This investigation not only addresses the intersectionality of identity and education but also contributes to fostering inclusive environments within higher education institutions.
Through these academic pursuits, I aspire to bridge cultural divides, challenge discriminatory practices, and advocate for inclusivity and equity within academia and beyond. My interdisciplinary background equips me with a unique perspective on tackling complex social issues and driving meaningful change in diverse global contexts.
