Electrical and Electronics Engineer with research interest in:
Power Electronics | Artificial Intelligence | Renewable Energy
I am a goal-oriented electrical and electronics engineer with almost a decade of experience mainly in the design and implementation of power electronics for high power (high voltage and high-current) applications as well as renewable energy-based mini-grid applications. I have led medium to large multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver research outcomes and projects within agreed time, budget, and quality. I have written several peer-reviewed publications and generated multiple patents internationally.
My passion for these focus areas is evident in my academic background, which includes Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. My Doctorate degree from the University of Leeds, features a collaboration with the University of Nottingham. This inter-University collaboration was facilitated by me as an outcome of the follow-up interaction after attending a PEMD conference in 2012. My research profile in the UK is evident via multiple intellectual property contributions as well as professional memberships with national institutes. For instance, I have been a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology since 2013, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2012. I have also been a STEM Ambassador (registered in England and Scotland) since 2015.
I intend to devote the next phase of my career to exploring research outcomes that exploit the benefits of combining artificial intelligence with power electronics within the EEE Department at the University of Strathclyde.
Between 2010 and 2020, I have been engaged in four years of relevant academia research, three years of industry research with Alstom Grid & General Electric UK, and three years of a DFID UK seed-funded impact development activities. These engagements enabled me to build a well-rounded skill set and showcase myself as a scholar with multiple publications, as an inventor with international industry-relevant patents, and as an impact-development technology-entrepreneur.
