Personal profile
Personal Statement
I am a committed educator with an interest in Technology, Innovation and Storytelling. Technology forms not only the content for many of my classes, but also the manner in which concepts are taught and discussed with students. My teaching brings strong academic insights, along with practical experience gained from my time as a Government IT Professional with the Department for International Development (DFID). I have a natural love and capacity for knowledge, which is brought out in my day-to-day teaching activities
I have a sustained track record of leadership within the Department of Management Science, whereby I have been Director of Undergraduate, Honours Year Coordinator and now the more strategic and policy-based role of Director of Teaching within the Department. My time in leadership positions has been decorated with growing student numbers on the Business Analysis and Technology programme, along with impressive results on the National Student Survey (NSS).
I have gained Strathclyde Teaching Excellence Awards in 2018 and 2019 for my dedication and enthusiasm for teaching and more recently I have been nominated for a Strathclyde Business School (SBS) Teaching Excellence Award in Outstanding innovative pro-social business-related teaching exercise or assessment.
Teaching Interests
I have a strong and sustained track record of leadership in teaching (Director of Teaching, Honours Year Coordinator, Director of Undergraduate) as well as delivering an outstanding experience to students. My main teaching and scholarship interests are in the areas of Technology, Innovation and Storytelling and this is reflected in my below teaching portfolio. Since, my appointment I have led on several classes as class coordinator, managing other colleagues and dealing with all areas of assessment. I have redesigned several classes in my role as coordinator, either in terms of content or in utilising innovative methods for assessment.
