Personal Statement

Mr Imam Baihaqi is a PhD Researcher at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean, and Marine Engineering, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. He is developing an integrated Value Engineering and Risk Assessment (VENRA) framework for shipyard performance measurement, proposing a more holistic framework that integrates the value of technical and business perspectives, as well as a safer and greener shipyard on the path to net zero emission. His research interests include shipbuilding manufacturing and productivity, risk analysis in shipbuilding, and marine material experiment.

Since 2015, he has also been a member of the Department of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia. Prior to pursuing his PhD, he participated in a collaborative research project between ITS and the University of Strathclyde, Newton Fund SUVESIN, which investigated the production process of a new sustainable bamboo material for small boats. In addition, he participated in an assessment project for Indonesian shipyards to determine the best shipyard from the perspective of ship owners.
