Research Interests
Plastics are ubiquitous and very useful1. Almost all companies and organisations use plastics. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals indicate responsible consumption and production action plans for plastics.
Microplastics are plastics smaller than 5 mm. Several studies have been done on microplastics in aquatic environments, while little is known about their terrestrial environment.
My research, with its potential to significantly advance our understanding of microplastics in the terrestrial environment, focuses on the behaviour of microplastics, including the pathway and tools for microplastic identification and characterisation.
