Personal Statement

I joined the University in 2013, and am currently a Senior Lecturer in Politics. After receiving my PhD in 2002 from Trinity College Dublin, I taught at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim and the University of Aberdeen before joining Strathclyde. I currently teach classes on elections, public opinion and parties, and political behaviour.

My research focuses on elections, party politics, political communication, political trust and electoral systems.

From 2014 to 2023, I held the position of Director of Graduate Studies (Research) in the School of Government and Public Policy.
