Heather is an experienced leader of strategic continuous improvement and operational management in both higher education and public sectors. Based at the University of Strathclyde, she is currently the Faculty Manager for Humanities and Social Sciences, one of the largest faculties at the university comprising six Schools and eight centres. Heather leads the Faculty’s multi-functional professional services portfolio. She previously held the role of Head of Continuous Improvement at the University.
Over the last 11 years, Heather achieved both a BA and MBA while working full time and is currently undertaking a part-time PhD to understand what the conditions are for effective strategy delivery in education settings.
She has co-authored two publications on benefits realisation management for higher education funded by the Leadership Foundation which was recommended as ‘best practice’ by University’s Scotland and Office for Students in England.
Heather is Deputy Chair for the charity SiMBA which provides crucial support to families who have suffered the loss of a baby during pregnancy, or shortly after birth.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
