My research asks how state and non-state actors can develop mechanisms to fulfil the autonomy rights of often marginalised populations, to redress health inequalities and realise human rights and justice agendas. Overall, I am interested in how international normative frameworks operate in practice for individuals with intersecting needs and how mechanisms can be developed to improve service delivery and programme design.

My PhD thesis, funded by the ESRC South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership, explored how actors’ responses consider contraceptive autonomy for Venezuelan adolescent migrant girls (aged 15-19) in Colombia, contributing significantly to understanding reproductive justice in humanitarian contexts. The thesis concludes by advocating for an interdisciplinary rights and reproductive justice approach instead of providing only ‘emergency’ or ‘urgent’ care (Hall, 2025).

I have worked as a Research Assistant on projects such as Redressing Gendered Health Inequalities of Displaced Women and Girls in Central and South America ('ReGHID'), at the University of Southampton. Currently, I am a part-time Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Inspiring Children’s Futures (IICF) at the University of Strathclyde. Recently, we have published a systematic review on measures of well-being for children in alternative care (Hall et al., 2025)
