I am a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Strathclyde. I graduated in 2014 with a bachelor degree in Business administration followed by a master degree in Economics and Finance from Durham University Business School. I then obtained my PhD in Accounting and Finance from University of Bath. Before joining the department of Accounting and Finance at Strathclyde Business School, I worked at The Open University Business School as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance and Teaching Assistant in the School of Management, University of Bath.
My main research interests lies in the areas of international accounting and corporate finance. I am interested on IPOs, corporate governance, managerial characteristics, earnings management, tax burden, labor investment efficiency, audit pricing, organization capital, political uncertainty, tournament incentives, implied cost of capital, and employment insurance risk. Further, I am open to co-operations with people specialising in other fields to combine their strengths.
I have publications in top academic journals such as, Journal of Corporate Finance (JCF), Journal of Banking and Finance (JBF), Journal of Management Studies (JMS), Journal of Business Finance and Accounting (JBFA) and Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR). Additionally, one of my works (CFO Career Prospects and Earnings Quality) was awarded a Best Pitch Award ($500 USD) at the Financial Management Association Conference, European Virtual Conference, 2021, whereas another study (Local Policy Risk and IPO Performance) was distinguished as the Best Paper in the Young Finance Scholars Conference (YFS, 2018) and was awarded with a Research Grant from the Kemmy Business School (University of Limerick).
I have reviewed for Journal of Management Studies (ABS*4), Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money (ABS*3), British Accounting Review (ABS*3), European Journal of Finance (ABS*3), and Finance Research Letters (ABS*2)
