Georgios N. Arvanitakis is pursuing his PhD in the University of Strathclyde's Institute of Photonics and Fraunhofer Centre for Applied Photonics (FCAP) under the supervision of Prof. Martin D. Dawson and Drs Jonathan J. D. McKendry and Henry T. Bookey.

His project lies in the field of Underwater Wireless Optical Communications and their potential applications.

Prior to his PhD, he studied for a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Optoelectronics & Microelectronics at the University of Crete, Greece.
