Personal profile
Personal Statement
I received my PhD from the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona in 2013, for work carried out in the Magnetism and Functional Molecules Group on magnetically switchable materials known as spin crossover compounds. From 2013 to 2016, I was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Murrie Group in the School of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow. There, I used high pressure crystallography and magnetic measurements to study how the magnetic behaviour of coordination complexes responds to the structural changes induced by squeezing the materials.
After being awarded a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Post-Doctoral Fellowship, I moved to the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Science in Kyoto University, Japan. My research there in the Furukawa Group involved the study of porous molecules for gas storage. In 2018 I was promoted to Assistant Professor in the Furukawa Group.
I joined the University of Strathclyde in September 2019 as a Chancellor's Fellow and Lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in May 2023.
Research Interests
Research in my group focuses on understanding the effects of self-assembly of porous molecules on gas uptake; mechanochemistry; and fabrication of materials. If you are a student or potential Post-Doc interested in working in the group, please get in touch.
