Personal profile

Personal Statement

I'm currently a PhD student in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, through the EPSRC CDT in Future Power Networks and Smart Grids.

My background is in computer science and wind energy systems, having received degrees in both in 2016 and 2017 respectively at Strathclyde.

With regards to research, my primary interests lie in the application of scalable optimisation techniques and high-performance computing to issues facing complex future power networks with high levels of renewable & distributed energy resource penetration.

I also take part in TA duties for classes in programming and power systems analysis.  In addition to this, I have worked on multidisciplinary research projects outwith my PhD.
