Dr Frederico Afonso completed his PhD in Aerospace Engineering in 2015 at the University of Lisbon. During his PhD studies, he participated in the EU 7th Framework Program Project NOVEMOR, which scope was to analyse and optimise novel and morphing aircraft. More recently, he participated as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the FLEXCRAFT project from the Portugal 2020 Framework, which consisted in designing and testing a modular aircraft where different fuselage modules can be carried by the same lifting system. In 2020, he joined the University of Strathclyde where he is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
