After completing a degree in Computer Games Technology I worked as a web applications developer for many years. However, my honours project was in Artificial Intelligence and I always retained an interest in the subject.
I eventually decided to follow my passion and enroll in Strathclyde's Msc in Machine Learning and Deep Learning. On completion of my masters I was fortunate enough to be offered funding for a PhD and look forward to being able to pursue original research in machine learning.
I am currently researching applications of machine learning for Precision Livestock Farming using non-invasive sensors. My focus is the use of video and audio recordings of livestock for the early identification of illness or welfare issues.
However, I am interested in all areas of machine and deep learning. My masters project involved training a GAN for image to image translation of SAR satellite images to optical images. Whilst other projects I have completed include using a CNN and LSTM to detect fake videos and a literature review of Explainable AI.
