Personal profile

Personal Statement

My career goal is to become a global health researcher and lecturer, finding insights that will strengthen health systems and health policy decision-making to improve the lives. I have core skills in operational research, project management, health system modelling and economic evaluation, as well as experience in evidence-based teaching and research methodology, which equips me to advance my career goal.

My research interest sits at the interface of health policy implementation and economic evaluation. I am interested in the application and impact of health policies on health systems and in facilitating policy decisions within these contexts. I am currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Management Science with a focus on modelling behaviour and diabetes service delivery. My PhD research involves combining concepts and methods from epidemiology, behaviour science, management science, economics, and computer science to build a simulation model for evaluating diabetes-related policies. From a methodological perspective, I am particularly interested in methods that integrate these philosophies and concepts from different academic fields in behaviour modelling and operations research where stakeholder perspectives, procedures and pathways are adequately represented. I have applied qualitative research methods and project management skills to elicit policymakers' and implementers' perspectives on communicable and non-communicable diseases.
