Personal profile
Personal Statement
I studied music at Edinburgh Napier University, graduating in 2010. After graduating, I moved to Durham, where I was a Choral Scholar at Durham Cathedral.
In 2015 I returned to study, this time at Strathclyde, and completed the PGDE in Scondary Education (Music) in 2016. I now teach Music and Drama in South Lanarkshire, as well as doing some freelance work as a musician as a soloist, accompanist, organist, and in choral works.
I continued to study at Strathclyde on a part-time basis, once I began teaching; initially on the MEd programme, and now on the EdD programme.
When not working or studying, I enjoy music and theatre, reading, and cooking. I'm also a keen knitter.
Research Interests
My research interests are around LGBT+ inclusion in Scottish schools. I'm particularly interested in expanding the research understanding of heteronormativity in education within the Scottish context. Additionally, I am interested in exploring how to use participatory theatre as a research method.
