Personal Statement
I gained a BSc in Computing Science from Paisley College of Technology in 1991 and an MSc in Finance from University of Strathclyde in 2005.
After experience with Weir Systems Ltd and Systems Computer Management Ltd working on financial control and treasury management systems in both programming and technical writing areas, I moved to the Department of Accounting & Finance at Strathclyde in 1994 and have worked in various capacities here since.
My current areas of expertise include Excel, Nexis, Datastream, FORTRAN, Unix, Automator & Apple Macs;
My current areas of "being able to get things done in but don't ask anything obscure" include Python, Perl, VBA, Matlab, SPSS, Minitab, Access, Compustat;
And finally my current areas of "only ask me to use if you want to see me cry" include Windows, Outlook and C.
I am tutor on AG215, AG217, AG910 (Excel labs)
