Personal Statement

Dr Dogancan Uzun is currently a research associate in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. He obtained his BSc from Piri Reis University in 2015, and PhD from the University of Strathclyde in 2020 in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

His research interests lie in the field of experimental and computational hydrodynamics on the topics of roughness, biofouling, fouling control methods, ship resistance and propulsion. Besides these topics, his research also focuses on the applicability of energy efficiency measures and mitigation of the cavitation and noise using roughness.

He is actively contributing to several Knowledge Exchange (Erasmus +) projects by developing teaching modules on the topics of energy efficiency in collaboration with the international project partners. He is an associate member of RINA.
